Swiss Holiday Park
Swiss Holiday Park is a family-friendly leisure resort nestled in the picturesque village of Morschach, offering a water park, and stunning views of the surrounding Alps.
With its adventure pool, ski slopes, spa facilities, and fun-filled amenities, it’s the perfect getaway for unforgettable family vacations in the heart of Switzerland.
overview and booking
Swiss Holiday Park is a unique resrt, because it combines things to do for a famly, with amazing Swiss Alps scenery.
While we’ve stayed at similar resorts in the United States before, such as Great Wolf Lodge, none have come with a view like this:
There’s also extra fun here, like an outdoor go-kart track and horseback riding through the small town (one of the best parts of our stay!)
The pool area was another favorite, with an indoor and outdoor pool featuring some pretty big slides.
The hotel isn’t perfect though. While we loved our stay and would gladly return, it’s not a 5 star luxury hotel. Parts of the resort are older and could use some updating.
Getting To Swiss Holiday Park
It’s a bit of a journey to get here from a city like Zurich, involving a train (or two) and a short bus ride up the hill.
You can see the windy road in the picture above that takes you up the mountains to Swiss Holiday Park from the train station in the town of Ingenbohl.
Booking and Check-in
Swiss Holiday Park has many different room options, from a hostel to standard hotel rooms, to apartments. We rented an apartment, which worked out great.
The apartment featured a kitchen and two levels for about the same price as a regular hotel room, without amenities such as complimentary breakfast.
Booking is through most online travel agencies like Expedia and Booking.com, as well as directly.
Water Park
The building that houses the water park and most of the activities is just across the street from the hotel and apartments.
One of the resort’s main attractions is the water park, which includes an indoor and outdoor pool.
The pool area features an indoor and outdoor pool you can swim between.
The outdoor pool offered a sunbathing area and stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The indoor section has some suitable slides, one requiring walking up several stairs.
The little ones are not left out either, with a dedicated children’s area with unique slides, water toys, and two paddling pools. The water temperature is a comfortable 90°F (around 32°C) throughout pools.
Other Things to do
Adventure Farm
At the Fronalp Adventure Farm kids can learn about Swiss farming, including life on the warm with evening cow milking. There’s also animals like goats, chickens, and rabbits. And a horseback ride around town!
One of the best parts of our stay was a horseback ride through the farm and back down the small main street in town!
This picture was taken from the horseback ride above the resort, before heading back through town. We walked while our kids rode, since it wasn’t a really long ride
The trip ends with a ride back through the small town to resort.
Go Kart Track
The Go Kart track is another fun outdoor activity. There’s even a go-kart option for smaller kids:
There’s a mini-golf course too, though it wasn’t huge.
For indoor fun, the Swiss Holiday Park also offers a bowling alley. There’s children’s bumper bowling lanes, ensuring our little one wasn’t left out.
There’s also several table tennis (ping pong) tables.
Stay Fit at the Health Club
There’s a well-equipped fitness center here also. There’s also a ice bath, sauna and steam room in the aquatic center.
Restaurants
There’s plenty of options at Il Gusto, Restaurant Panorama, and Schwiizer Stube, offering pasta specialties, international dishes, and seasonal Swiss cuisine.
For quick bites, visit the ever-ready Neptun Snack Bar.
Restaurants available outside the hotel in Morschach. But it’s a small village, so options are pretty limited.
Village of Morschach
The Swiss Holiday Park is conveniently located in the picturesque village of Morschach and the high plateau of the Stoos ski area.
Thervillage is pretty small, so doesn’t take long to walk around town.
Additional Amenities and Services
To make your stay even more enjoyable and convenient, the Swiss Holiday Park offers additional services like dry cleaning, breakfast, and a ski shuttle.
You can also use self-parking and ski storage rooms during your stay, though we don’t usually recommend renting a car in Switzerland as the public transportation is so good.
Conclusion
We enjoyed our stay at Swiss Holiday Park and look forward to returning soon!
